Part Time Collection Development Technician

Essential Job Functions
The Collection Development Technician places orders for Library materials and tracks expenditures. Working under the direct supervision of the Collections Manager, and with an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the person in this position will:
Purchase all print and non-print materials.
Organize and prioritize the workflow of materials acquisitions for the department.
Maintain the ILS Acquisitions module. Track materials expenditures in all library funds and verify invoice accuracy.
Enter bibliographic data into the ILS Acquisitions module for direct orders and serials.
Keep vendor files up-to-date. Serve as liaison with vendor representatives.
Produce and distribute financial reports on a regular basis.
Update and maintain standing order records.
Submit new serial orders, renewals, and direct orders. Reconcile claims and resolve problems.
Assist with filling patron requests for material and Interlibrary Loan requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma required.
Specialized training in accounting, purchasing, or payables preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in Library Collection Development or Technical Services or accounting, purchasing or payables.
Hours
Required to work a 19 hour work week, Monday through Friday.
Wages
Starting/Hiring Range: $15.00 - $18.00, Hourly
Total Salary Range: $15.00 - $21.00, Hourly

Demonstration of character and integrity in all situations while upholding SJCPL’s ethical standards.
Experience working with computers, including Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Windows and Mac OS, with an emphasis on proficiency with spreadsheets.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an Integrated Library System (Innovative Interfaces Sierra preferred) and willingness to learn OCLC computerized cataloging systems. Willingness to learn Innovative Acquisitions module.
